Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience - Verifying insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations - Collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information accurately into the electronic medical records system - Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients regarding services, policies, and procedures - Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling patient information - Assist with medical administrative support tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and organizing documents - Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations - Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, office procedures, and clinic policies Skills:
- Previous experience as admission coordinator or in a similar role is preferred - Proficiency in using phone systems and handling multiple lines simultaneously - Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks such as verifying insurance coverage, and obtaining authorizations - Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, staff, and providers - Knowledge of medical records management systems and electronic medical records (EMR) software - Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Note:
